Varia - Essays on Creative Literature

Varia - Essays on Creative Literature is a different sort of a book. It is like the presentation of a wholesome meal. Unlike it is in the cases of my books like, Michael: His English Literature and Essays on Anglo-Indian Literature, which are written on a single continuing subject, in the case of Varia, the signature point is variety. There are seven essays in this book.
Varia by Prof. Sujit Bose
Varia – Creative Literature
Varia collection of variety of essays on creative literature. The primary thesis is that, creative literature, specially fiction, has its antecedents in folk tales. It has been attempted to be shown that the first creative narrators, were the narrators of the folk tales. They were the first who used their creative imagination for the creation of tales for the dual purpose of the entertainment and the edification of their listeners. It is these simple folk tales that underwent development to result in the complexities of what we understand today as creative literature. In this essay an attempt has been made to analyse the various literary and extra-literary aspects of creative literature.

Varia

Varia
Varia by Dr Sujit Bose
Varia: Sujit Bose is a rainbow of essays on literary subjects ranging from one on creative literature to one on the changing aspects of the presentation of Britain over the years, in Australian poetry. The essay on Gabriel Okara’s mysticism is particularly interesting. It proves that music, in his case the sound of drums, can be a medium for a mystical experience. The essay on the folk tales of Mundari, a tribal language of Jharkhand, would be of interest to people interested in anthropology, sociology. They would be of interest to literary people as well. All the essays are the results of original research of the author.

Environment & Mother Earth

It is our moral responsibility to protect mother earth. Environment plays major role. It is really great that I came across few new books related to the issue and I found them interesting. I recommend you to go through them and recommend it to others also.

A brief:

The book on 'Environmental Policies in India' highlights the role of the Government of India in protecting our fragile environment and thus, ensuring sustainable development of the country. Different environmental programmes and policies have been discussed elaborately in this regard. The second book 'Environmental Protection' attempts to understand and highlight the problem of environment pollution in Delhi, the Capital and the fastest growing metropolis of India. The third book is on 'Solid Waste Management' highlights the role of Civic bodies in the field of solid waste management in the Capital city of Delhi. It discusses that the future of the emerging urban society lies in management of wastes not in mere disposal.
